Core Network Engineer - 4G/5G/Mobile Network rollout
We are currently recruiting for a core network engineer, towork for a mobile network reframing project in Gambia.
This is a full turn-key project of 2G/3G swap technology andnew 4G/5G implementation from 2 different networks.
This person will be responsible for the design and deliveryof the end-to-end 4G/5G network. Successful candidate will have a comprehensiveunderstanding of wireless communication principles and theories as they applyto the design, operation, and optimization of wireless networks. Candidate willbe driving to closure design requirements and deliverables for a DefinitiveAgreement; from solution design, to High-Level and Low-Level Designs and,finally, the successful implementation and handover to Operations. This position requires supportingcross-functional national design and deployment teams, engineering teams, andfield operations teams in technical trials and evaluations. The position alsorequires close collaboration with other technical and non-technical groupswithin customer, therefore strong program management and matrix managementskills are required.
Primary responsibilities fall into the followingcategories:
Overall responsibility for the design, optimization andperformance of a 4G/5G network. This includes, at a minimum, solution design,High Level Designs, Low Level Designs, CIQ for Data build and successfulhandover of solutions to Operations
Manages operational and work assignments of Network team toensure consistency of approach and design assumptions associated with eachEconomic Area Works with the Transport and RF Engineering leads to ensure theend-to-end network connectivity occurs between the device and the IP network.
Supports the Definitive Agreement negotiation teams byensuring network design requirements, KPI and End-to-End Performance metricsare captured in the Agreement as well as defining the test cases that willensure the delivered network meets the documented requirements.
Skills - Experience and Requirements
A successful 4G/5G Core Network Engineer will have thefollowing:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineeringpreferred, or 3 or more years of professional experience.
Proven knowledge of broad spectrum of radio and networkprotocols spanning IoT, LTE, 4G, 3G, 2G and WLAN based wireless broadbandnetworks.
Proven knowledge of IP technologies such as MPLS, PBB-TE,MGCP, SIP, RTP, Mobile IP, etc. and web-based services platforms.
Strong demonstrated experience within the wireless industry,specifically Core and EPC Engineering Design, Optimization and managing theperformance (KPIs) of Core network
2+ years managing Core and EPC Engineering and/orConsultancy teams from requirements definition to final design deliverable.
2+ years project management experience of Network Design anddata center build out tasks associated with the Wireless Build out Plan ofRecord.
2+ years of LTE EPC Design Experience (MME, HSS, S & PGW, PCRF, Security Platforms, Core and Edge Routers, Aggregation NetworkElements).
Experience with the deployment of a Wireless Core Network aspart of total build out experience.
Proven experience managing a Vendor to the agreed upon SOWentrance/exit criteria as well as deliverables. Ensures that any change in project Scope / Time / Cost follow the ChangeOrder Process.
Strong background with understanding device and mobileperformance challenges in an operational network.
